Fellas, looking for some guidance here... Am I required to release players who are actually FA? I have Addison Reed, Tyler Chatwood, and Jarrod Dyson, all free agents. I saw a remark somewhere on the site that led me to believe they needed to be released. Just wanted to make sure before I do anything. Thanks in advance.

Yes, if they are free agents in real life, then they need to be released from your team. If they have club options then they still belong to you unless the options are declined, then they also become free agents. Example: I had Mike Minor from KC who had a team option that got declined so he is now a free agent in our league.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, guys. I'll remove all three of those bums from my roster! Now, if I could shed the other 15 bums I have, I'd be in good shape!

For the month of December, we will each post a list of players we have dropped (non free agents). You can trade guys from there if someone else wants them. As of January 1, any player still on a drop list will become part of our pool of free agents for bidding.

Wondering about a rule clarification. Chris Martin reportedly just signed with the Rangers from Japan but he has pitched in MLB before so would he be in the free agent bidding or would he belong to whoever has the Rangers?

He would be added to free agent pool. we did the same for Eric Thames last season when he came back from Japan.

I have some questions about the players that were just dropped today. When can other owners add them if they want? How will that be handled (waiver process or bids)?

I think we will soon run a draft of guys who are still on WW at ESPN. We have done it the last few yrs. You can add someone if you want, but you can also pass. It will run in reverse order of last yrs standings with reverse order (snake) for the next round. More details coming soon.

Can I just add a player who is not on anybody's prospect roster if he is on the MLB roster? Does he have to first appear in a MLB game before I add him or is being on the roster enough.

All prospects are considered on their respected teams whether they are on a teams protected list or not.If a prospect is not on a teams Milb protected list and he registers a MLB at bat then he is fair game for anyone to add. So if I didn't have Colton Welker on my protected list and he got a MLB at bat then he is available at that time for anyone to pick up. A prospect has to have 130AB/50IP in a single season to lose prospect status, stats do not carry over from the past seasons for this league.
