I am hopeful and optimistic that we will have a 10th member on board soon. In the meantime rosters are frozen from adding any players until I give the greenlight when the postseason is over. That means no trades or adding players.
1) Now is a great time to look through your MiLB lists and think of which players you want to add or drop. Hold off on adding them until the postseason is over. Make a list or keep track in an excel file for now.
2) It is time to evaluate your MLB rosters. I keep mine in excel, but whatever works for you.
a) Which players will be free agents in the offseason? You may want to browse this list: www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/09/2020-21-mlb-free-agents.html Anyone who will be a free agent for any reason other than being non-tendered MUST be removed from your MLB roster.
b) Which players do you just want to drop from your MLB roster? You can drop anyone you want with no salary cap penalty.
c) If you don't already have a "Dropped Players" thread under your team thread, create one. Copy and paste the info in blue below into your dropped players thread. Anyone you drop in the offseason must be recorded there. Notice I have a separate category from free agents. Place those players there. I compile this info into a big list before we start free agency bidding, and any help you can provide me in having the information consistent and organized would be greatly appreciated. It will cut down on time for me (THANKS IN ADVANCE!).

d) Once you have pared your roster down, now it is time to update salary information.
Please do this over the next month so you are not the guy that is holding us up from starting the offseason when the World Series is over.
Do not be afraid to ask me questions. I am good with it!

d) Once you have pared your roster down, now it is time to update salary information.
- Use the following link: www.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/
- Click on the team the player was on at the start of the 2020 season.
- Click on the green link next to 2020 in the Opening Day column on the page.
- Record any known salary information for all possible years of all players that are on your roster. Remember that we will be playing the 2021 season using 2020 salaries, so 2020 will be the first value listed for each player. Check my Joe Buck Yourself MLB roster if you need to see what it looks like.
- Add all player salaries and the total of your MiLB pool to make sure you are under the $240M cap. Remember a salary of $21,250,000 is listed as 21.25.
- Remove any salary cap penalties that you had from the 2020 season from your cap.
Please do this over the next month so you are not the guy that is holding us up from starting the offseason when the World Series is over.
