While I have not checked who owns the Braves rights, there is a discussion to be had. There is a real possibility that prospects the Braves signed will have their contracts voided. It is because they violated intnl signing rules. While the owner of the Braves rights here has done nothing wrong, I am not sure they should benefit from the Braves wrong doings. In the event contract are voided, how shall we handle it here?
A. Keep players in braves system B. Cut players loose and they become property of whoever signs them since intl bonus pool applies
Discussion?

It stinks because I can see both sides.
My opinion is the prospects should stay with the owner in our league as long as they had them already on their prospect roster.
Keep it simple. If this happens down the road what if the prospects were included in a trade etc. Would we cancel trades after they were done? What if the trades included players in the majors that have been used. I think it could get messy.

Nic makes a good point of how this could get messy with the trade scenario he threw out. I agree as well that if the team with the Braves organization has those players already on their minors list, they should retain the players. But those players that are not listed, and signed by another organization in real time, will go to the respective managers here.

I hear you guys. I am just not sure I feel right about players being their when they wouldn't have had it not been for the rules violations. Majority will rule though.

I say that players stay on their respected teams. It's not the fault of our owners that Atlanta broke the rules. Dale traded for Maitan on June 20th. Are we going to penalize Dale even though he did nothing wrong?

I agree with the above. Our league has no fault leave the players as is

It sounds like MLB might be taking away draft picks and international spending money.
While the owner in our league gets to keep the prospects it should be noted that the owner will be affected by these penalties as well.

As the Braves farm team owner, and someone who has made a lot of trades with those players, I agree with the concensus.

Good point about the Braves sanctions affecting the owner in this league. I will give it 24 hours more, but looks like staying with the status quo is the best path.

I feel that as players have already changed hands and were factored into current salary caps they should be left as is.

i did not want to give my input here yet b/c i'm vested in the situation, but I believe this is the right thing to do which is to leave the players as-is. Much in the same way traded prospects in real life don't switch to new teams, players introduced into our minors systems henceforth play by league rules.

That would be tough for some of these young guys. You sign with a team, don't speak the language, finally get to know some teammates and coaches, and now you have to start over. Rough day at the office.

Braves definitely got hit hard today. They lost 12 prospects and reduced international signing money. Lifetime ban for the former gm. Also lost a third round pick.
