I know it may be a bit of a hassle, but we need to manage our roster BOTH on here and ESPN. 1) If you are going to pick up a player, you have to make sure you have salary cap room for the player. You have 48 hours to clear cap room or it will be the same fine as being over during free agency. 2) PLEASE DO NOT ADD SOMEONE ELSE'S SPEC. CHECK LISTS! EX: JACKSON HOLLIDAY IS ON THE WAIVER WIRE, BUT HE IS CLEARLY SOMEONE ELSE'S PROPERTY. HANDS OFF. 3) Whether it is a trade, release, addition, etc., you are responsible for updating your roster in both spots. Yes, I know I said this already, but I am trying to make a point. ) Thanks. I am sure more questions will pop up. LMK Brian

To add a player who has reached rookie limits of 130AB or 50 IP that is not one of your prospects
1) If the player has achieved the above rookie limits in any single season prior to this season, the player is eligible to added to a any team’s roster once the season begins. 2) We will not count prior ABs or IP from previous seasons if they have not reached 130 AB or 50 IP prior to the start of the season. The player will be deemed eligible for pick-up only if they met the 130 AB or 50 IP for the current season.
Ex: Player A gets a call-up in September of the previous season and logs 42 AB or 16 IP. These totals do not accumulate with the current season AB or IP numbers. The AB/IP is re-set to start the season. Player A can only be added by another team once they reach the 130 AB or 50 IP for this current season.
3) Once a player has reached the magic number of 130 AB or 50 IP for the season, they CANNOT be immediately added at ESPN. You must post your intent to add a player on the thread in the Trade Section. Then a clock of EXACTLY ONE WEEK begins that allows the team who controls the player’s rights to add them at any time during that week. If the team who controls the player’s rights does not add the player, then the team who made the claim on the thread here may add him to their ESPN roster. With the 2017 season, we will be allowing more than 1 team to make a claim. Whichever team makes a claim within the 1 week time frame that has the highest waiver order will win the claim. ONLY the team who successfully wins the claim can add the player. This process is to avoid disputes for the owners. People get busy, especially in the summer, and 1 week is more than enough time for you to check in and see if there may be a roster issue.
Ex: Player A reaches 130 AB for the current season on Tuesday, July 14. Team X notices this on Wednesday, July 15. Team X makes a claim on the board here at 1:27pm on Wednesday, July 15. Team Y controls Player A’s rights. Team Y has until 1:27pm on Wednesday, July 22 (1 week later) to add the player, or else Team X may add Player A with no penalty.
4) If any player has achieved rookie limits of 130 AB or 50 IP in a season and then dropped, the player is eligible to be added by any team without the need to go through the one week claim process again.
5) Once a claim is made, it cannot be retracted.
6) Penalty: If an owner doesn’t follow the above process (Ex: Adds a player at ESPN without making the claim here or waiting the full week), then the owner will not be able to add the player at any time that season and the owner will be moved to the bottom of the waiver priority. The player then can be added by the team who currently owns his rights, or a claim by a new team can be made.
7) To help with when a player can be added when they are on no one else's MiLB and they have been called up for their MLB debut. The player cannot be added when news comes out that they are being called up. They must actually be in a game. The player can be added as soon as one of the following criteria has been met: a) They are the starting pitcher or in the starting lineup, and it is game time or later for their first game that they are in the lineup. b) They enter the game from the bench or bullpen and they can be added upon entering the game lineup.
