I'm sure you've said this at one time or another Brian, but going through some prospect lists the past few days, I have discovered there are some repeats. Now, I know you caught the one with Dan Vogelbach with me, but let me get this straight.
As long as the player:
1. Has not reached 130 AB or 50 IP 2. Is currently part of one of your original 3 franchise's farm system 3. Has not been traded in this league by a previous owner (that was the Dan Vogelbach situation) 4. It does not matter if the player was traded to one of your franchises in real life, as long as he checks out with numbers 1-3
The player is your property
For example, Player X was on Bob's MiLB roster when he was part of the Cubs' system, but player X was traded to the Cardinals in real life, so now Jimmy puts him on HIS MiLB roster. Jimmy has rights to the player, correct?
Multiple MiLB players have been traded over the offseason, so now there are some repeats. Just thought I would clear this up before we get any farther.

No, he stays Bob's prospect since he was on his list. That is the point of the list. If he had not been protected by the Cubs owner, then the Cards owner could add him. If there are issues with players, please send me a PM. Thanks!

Alright thanks. I just wanted to make sure before I went through and added some more players to my roster.

Yeah, that was a pain in the ass looking for new minor leaguers to my 3 franchises, then searching others' lists to see if they were part of their system. BLEH!

I agree it isn't fun, but it is the only way to go.

The good news is you only have to do it once, twice a year.

Maybe if we created some type of thread on here, where everyone copied and pasted their current MiLB roster (no teams, just names), then we could go in and use the CTRL-F function to make sure the player is not already owned.

I am going to make one for this coming season. I already made one for last year.

Look under the "teams" thread. 2016 prospect master list.

Maybe we could put it into a spreadsheet with the teams having a tab to themselves. That way you could control+F and search the whole workbook. not sure if that would. i'm on percosets following my shoulder surgery, so just a suggestion.
