Hi Guys,
I started a discussion early in the off-season about IL slots. ESPN caps IL slots at 8, but MLB does not limit how many players you can place on the IL. If a guy is hurt, he goes on the IL. I know that in the past I have had to cut players I did not want to because I ran out of IL slots, and I think others were in the same boat.
Please read and follow the rules below:
1) This section is not for the first 8 players that you put on IL. It is for players #9 and beyond.
2) List the player here, and you should add him to your roster on ESPN the day they are eligible to come off the IL.
3) If you do not add him back to your roster on the first day eligible, other owners may place a claim for the player, just like claiming a rookie. It follows the same procedure. The owner of the claimed player can add him within one week of the claim, but they will lose the player 1 week after the first claim if they do not add them to their roster. The winner of the claim will be whichever owner has the highest waiver priority among those who submit a claim.
4) PENALTY: Any owner who adds someone else's player on ESPN that is on this protected list will be dropped to the bottom of the waiver priority list.
5) EJECT BUTTON: If an owner has not made a claim for a player still on the list, even though they have been activated in MLB, and one week has passed, the league commissioner will drop the player from this protected list, and he may be added by anyone after that point. Players should not linger on this list like they are in purgatory. Either activate them at the appropriate time, or they hit the waiver wire.
