I've come to realize that this league is a ton of work, more than any other league I've ever been in. Picking up players is not as simple as just dropping a player and adding a different player on ESPN. Trades are also complicated, as salaries need to be included. Throughout all of this, we need to maintain our team salary under a certain dollar amount, which means when we pick up a player, we must go look up that player's salary from 2015 and beyond, and add that to our roster. So a simple 30 second transaction is suddenly a ten minute chore.
If we do not maintain our rosters in this regard, we lack transparency that is needed so everyone can make sure rosters are staying under $240 million. Now I assume Brian is doing this periodically, checking to be sure players' salaries are accurate, rosters are being properly added, and so forth. We all must assume this.
But here's the problem I have, not everyone is updating their rosters and their transactions on this site. I don't know if they are taking short cuts, trying to hide their overall team's salary, not willing to put in the extra work, or just don't care. The top culprit of this act is Brian, our commissioner. I tried to look into some of the players he has picked up, but if you think doing one transaction is a lot of work, try following what he has done since March 30, his last roster update/transaction post. I gave up after 4 missing transactions/updates.
I don't know if this intentional, but it really pisses me off that he's picked up 3 times the players I have this season, and done about the same amount of updates as I have. My roster is up to date, and so are at least a few others. Again, checking to see if rosters are updated is a pain in the ass, so I quit after a few checks.
These are your rules Brian, and if you aren't going to follow them, then why have such over-complicated rules? I pick up so few players because I just find making the changes so laborious. So when I see you not doing the same, I ask myself, do I really want to remain in this league?
Right now that answer is no. We'll see what I decide at the end of the season.
I just wanted to make this public, because this should be a concern to the entire league.
